The problem come when messages are deleted or moved on host2
by the user.

a) X1 X2 on host1

b) sync host1 -> host2
X1 X2 on host1
X1 X2 on host2

c) new message
X1 X2 X3 on host1
X1 X2 on host2

d) remove X2 on host2
X1 X2 X3 on host1
X1 on host2

Then choose e1) or e2)

e1) sync host2 -> host1 without --delete2
X1 X2 X3 on host1
X1 on host2

Problem: X2 on host2 again at the next sync to host2

e) sync host2 -> host1 with --delete2
X1 on host1
X1 on host2

Problem: X3 removed on host1
