The strange thing is that imapsync should use PLAIN auth mechanism
on host2 when --authuser2 is given but the output you gave says:
"Will try to use LOGIN authentication on host2"
It should be:
"Will try to use PLAIN authentication on host2"
I don't understand this bug looking at the code.

So add:
...  --authmech2 PLAIN

And tell us. imapsync may complain that
"Host ... says it has NO CAPABILITY for AUTHENTICATE PLAIN"
but it will try that AUTH PLAIN mechanism.
You have to enable auth PLAIN mechanism on your server of course
if it is not already enable. (Reading the output you gave
AUTH PLAIN is supported).


Other point:

> 1 login admin n0password
> 1 OK User logged in
> 2 proxyauth fred
> 2 OK Completed

This is not complicated, not supported in imapsync,
not documented anywhere and seems only implemented by Sun.
Patches are welcome, help yourself, pay me or someone else
to to it, I don't have time to work freely on this.
