Done. It was now able to sync the stuff in the
"Alexander" folder.

BUT: *NOW*, I am also able to sync without the "--folder"
argument to imapsync. IOW: I cannot reproduce the problem
anymore:(

How I hate that :((

Well. Thanks a lot for your help and time anyway!

So, it seems to me, that this was not an issue of imapsync,
but some temporary problems with Gmail. Or whatever :)
