- A QUICK FLY OVER THE USER'S GUIDE
Escritor creation release : [index]
Create any type of terms (at least !) and its correction as you would do with a pencil and a piece. Start by placing a "virtual page" (large or narrow squares, musical staves, graph paper, ...) on the background, then just handwrite with the graphic tablet stylus. All that you do is recorded in real time, and will be restituted as is to the students ! Thus, you can punctuate your works of oral sentences "on the go" exactly as if the student was by your side, as if you were explaining to him by speaking and writing on his workbook. Moreover, you can insert any images, sounds, videos, musical themes or sound effects at any time, in terms as in correction. Should you wish to make the student's answer disappear from the screen when he asks for the correction of an exercise, or on the contrary let him see his own work and yours simultaneously, anything is possible ! In dictation mode, the student can write his text while he listens to your dictation. Would you like to allow the student to open several times the same exercise or forbid him on the contrary, nothing is easier. The program is concieved to follow your educational methods !

By way of example, here is a selection of screen captures from existing works showing the application range of Escritor in education. There are as many methods as teachers...

French

... a dictation while the teacher speaks
History-Geography

... writing on a map
Foreign languages

... document study in Japanese
Mathematics

... any activity as long as no particular tools are needed

Music

... a musical dictation
Tutorials in English

... where drafting is important
This time, a simple lesson ...

... without any exercice
A video document study in Greek

... and the activity that goes with it
etc ...
Escritor touch-up release : [index]
Any created page can be entirely modified. With Escritor Touch-up release, insert, erase or modify any element that the page contains. Correct the oral sentences that you have pronounced, cancel your errors, change the pen colour and thickness, move an image or a video, correct a spelling mistake... You can even launch an automatic research for potential mistakes like hesitations in writings to be cancelled, or display the synthetic structure of your page.
Escritor runtime release : [index]
Before starting, the student is given a confidential code by the program, forbidding anyone but himself and the teacher to look at his work. Then, he just has to choose a page and the first terms are displayed as concieved by the teacher. When the terms finish, the student can have them retold (excexpt during dictations !) or answer. Any activity from the graphic tablet stylus will automatically be saved in real time and added to the page. From now on, the teacher will be able to see at leasure the student's work like he would with a "video tape recorder", accelerate it, slow it down at will or simply stop to print it as is at any time and in colours. When the student has finished answering the questions, he just has to click a button and the corrections are displayed, still in real time, with the oral sentences and all the medias wished by the teacher. To this "typical" correction will be added the teacher's assessments and comments when he decides to verify the student's work. In the same classroom, each student can be given a different exercise, while being individually followed, exactly as if the teacher had an eye over the drafting of each workbook when the writing occurs
Escritor text processing package : [index]
The text processing package is useful to paste a typed text on the student's virtual page, like a photocopy. Type a text and cut it with "massicot" ! The typed text becomes an image ready to be pasted on the background, that's all.
Escritor image cutter : [index]
All the images to be inserted don't have the right size to fit on the background. This utility is useful to enlarge or shrink the size of any image (BMP or JPG format), and to cut only a part of an image to make another image, simply by dragging a rectangle.

- Escritor AND THE EXERCISES, TESTS, EVALUATION
Lots of exercises created with Escritor already exist. You will soon be able to download some of them (here) from certain Escritor devoted FTP sites through the Internet. You will be able to share your own works by uploading them on these very sites. Therefore, Escritor allows you to actually share educational methods to anyone who wants to.

- Escritor WITHOUT FRONTIERS ! -
Escritor currently exists in several languages. To allow its diffusion to other countries, you just have to translate a simple text file (the "Language.txt" file including all the texts that can be displayed by Escritor) and the program automatically fits. Send us your translated file and we will add it to the official site so that anyone can use it under the conditions of the GPL (free software)

You can still contact Escritor author (Jean-Yves Chasle) for suggestions.
