  • POV-Ray - the Persistence of Vision Raytracer - Célèbre Logiciel de raytracing : The Persistence of Vision Raytracer is a high-quality, totally free tool for creating stunning three-dimensional graphics. It is available in official versions for Windows 95/98/NT, DOS, the Macintosh, i86 Linux, SunOS, and Amiga.

  • povray rendering center v1.0 - Interface graphique pour POV :
    POVRAY RENDERING CENTER is an X11 based application which purpouse is to make easier the rendering with povray raytracer.

  • povfront - La plus complète des Interfaces graphiques pour POV :
    It aims at providing an easy way to launch pov rendering with a graphical interface which manages all the available options even the script only ones.

  • VisualPOV : Interface graphique pour povray
  • PVMPOV - Rendering in Parallel : PVMPOV lets you unleash the power of your network connected computers with POV-Ray. One master process distributes the rendering job over network and collects the result from the POV-Ray slaves.
  • POVTextureEditor is written in Java(tm) and should run without recompilation on all platforms which support Java (currently Solaris, Linux, Irix, AIX, HPUX, OSF/1, OS/2, MacOS, Windows 95 (no Windows 3.1 yet), Amiga)
  • K4DE : Front end pour Povray.
  • AC3D - Modeleur : AC3D is popular shareware 3D object/scene modeller available for Linux, Windows 95/NT, and SGI. It's is very easy to use but powerful too - anyone can create good looking 3d objects in minutes.

  • Rayshade Homepage - Rayshade is an extensible system for creating ray-traced images. It is written in C, yacc, and lex, and runs on many different platforms.

  • Blender, freeware 3D software - Logiciel d'animation en images de synthèse, ce qui se fait de mieux pour linux, et c'est un freeware !

  • Flow is a particle animation application under development by Mark B. Allan and the Reptile Labour Project.
  • F l i p will load a sequence of TIF files into memory and play them back at a target frame rate. Nothing fancy, just a quick, simple utility to preview animations rendered in BMRT without the encoding time and quality loss of MPEG.
  • MindsEye - Modelisation / Animation : This is the MindsEye project. The aim is a complete modeling/animation package for the LINUX operating system.

  • Behemot Graphics Editor - Behemot Graphics Editor is a graphics program which allows to model and render 3D objects and scenes. It runs on Windows 3.1 (win Win32s Extension) Windows95/NT and Linux.

  • Megahedron - It is an advanced 3D graphics engine controlled by a high-level, interpreted programming language called SMPL. It can make dynamic, interactive scenes as well as static renderings. It may be what people expect VRML 2.0 and Java 3D to be.

  • Panorama - Panorama is a framework for 3D graphics production. It is part of the GNU project.

  • RenderPark: a photorealistic rendering tool - RenderPark is a photo-realistic rendering tool being developed at the Computer Graphics Research Group of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, in Belgium.

  • TKMatman : TKMatman is a tool that lets you interactively set and adjust parameters to RenderMan shaders and preview images with the given parameters.
  • The Mops Home Page - The Mops is a free 3D modeling environment written in C with Tcl/Tk. The current version is 0.42b, released 20.6.1999. The Mops currently runs on Unix (Linux, IRIX tested) and Win32 (experimental).

  • Blue Moon Rendering Tools - The Blue Moon Rendering Tools (BMRT) are a collection of rendering programs which adhere to the RenderMan(R) interface standard (RenderMan is a registered trademark of Pixar).

  • Giram - Giram Is Really A Modeller (Or at least it will be).

  • Extreme Wave - Extreme Wave is an ambitious project to create a feature rich, extensible 3D modeling environment. Extreme Wave currently emphasizes povray export for scene rendering, but support for other formats is planned. Extreme Wave will eventually include a native ray tracer as well.

  • Dot C Software - The RenderDotC toolkit includes programs for processing various files in order to produce a final, rendered image.

  • G3D - This is G3D. It is a 3D modeller with a narrow view of 3D modelling. That is: I wrote this up to make models for 3D games. This means that advanced modelling features (NURBS, animation, other stuff like that) is not included. It probably never will be either.

  • Moonlight Atelier - Moonlight Atelier is a FREE 3D modeling and rendering application that delivers a complete set of tools to create images and visual effects on Linux platform. Into a single environment, Moonlight Atelier brings you NURBS Curve creation and edition,NURBS Surface generation and instant rendering via a comprehensive user interface.

  • Free3dsmax Project - About The Free3dsmax Project is based on the world renown product called 3dsmax, This project in no way is designed to be a replacement of the 3dsmax product, But a 3d program based off 3dsmax to work on ONLY *nix systems. This product is under the LGPL License Agreement. I give anyone the ability to modify free3dsmax to fit there own needs..

  • Pixcon - Pixcon is a set of 3D animation and rendering tools which are FREE !

  • Sced - Sced is a modelling program that makes use of geometric constraints to edit objects in a virtual world.

  • Chloé - Rendu par raytracing.

  • jawRay : An experimental raytracer written in C++.
  • Photon4D : A New RayTracing & Faaast ZBuffer.
  • Font3D : Font3D is a command-line utility program that can build a three dimesional model (object description) of a word or phrase in any TrueType font.
  • xfont3d - xfont3d is a graphical interface to Font3D that uses the XForms library.

  • IKM Axis : Axis is a 3D network-accessible rendering engine, useful for building shared virtual environments. Axis server allows multiple users to share a virtual environment.

  • Crystal Space : Crystal Space is a free (LGPL) and portable 3D engine written in C++. It supports true 6DOF, colored lights, mipmapping, portals, mirrors, alpha transparency, reflecting surfaces, 3D sprites ...

  • GIG : GIG's modeling and animation software, GIG3DGO, was developed for artists working in creative communication with digital media.

  • Sceda : Sceda is, like sced, an X-based, constraint-oriented three dimensional modeller. It also provides support for splined keyframe animation. Animated objects have their position, rotation and scale smoothly interpolated across multiple keyframes via a (modified) spline function.
  • Xfrog : Modeleur (végétation).
  • 3dom : 3dom is an general purpose 3D solid object modeler.
  • Me3D : Me3D is a polygonal 3D modeling program, intended for creating OpenGL models for use in games and other programs that perform real-time rendering.
  • Terraform : Terraform is an open source interactive height field generation and manipulation program, giving you the ability to generate random terrain and transform it. Terraform runs under Linux and other UNIX systems under the X11 Windowing system.
  • Alias Wavefront : Wavefront, an SGI (NYSE:SGI) company today announced it plans to create Red Hat® Linux® V6 versions of its award-winning Maya® Batch Renderer and Maya® Composer Renderer for Intel® IA-32 processor-based computers.
  • RADIANCE : RADIANCE is UNIX freeware for lighting design and rendering, developed by the U.S. Department of Energy and the Swiss federal government, copyrighted by the Regents of the University of California.

  • Open Inventor : Open Inventor(TM) is an object-oriented toolkit for developing interactive, 3D graphics applications. It also defines a standard file format for exchanging 3D data among applications.
  • Virtuoso : Virtuoso is an attempt to create a high-quality, complete and free 3d package for Linux OS(at this time, other OSs will be supported as we progress). Virtuoso is part of the OpenSource(tm) movement.
  • jaw3dlib 3D : jaw3dlib is a fully portable 3D Programming Library that can be used to create simple 3D applications under virtually any operating system. jaw3dlib's main foci are portability and ease of use.
  • Backlight : BACKLIGHT is a photorealistic relativistic visualisation system.
